No, not her first SPOKEN word…that was “eye”, in case you’re wondering. She made the long “i” sound and pointed to her eye. Hence, her first meaningful word spoken in English.Â
No, I’m talking about her first written word. Not that she KNEW she was writing a word. She just loves to write letters and run up to me and ask “what that say?”.Â
This time, she was making a Father’s Day card for her daddy and just started writing letters. My jaw dropped when I saw what she’d done. GOD. Clear as day (and G is usually not this neat and easy to read!). Lined up straight, in the dead middle of the page. I know it could just as easily been “bug”, or “cup”, but I thought it was super cool that her hands made the name of our Creator instead.Â
She looks a little smug, don’t you think? You go girl…keep proclaiming the name of our Lord :)

Wow, that gave me chills, too! Lainey, keep up the good work…your printing is so neat and you just cannot beat the word you made…She knows she is truly a gift from God and that her family who adopted her is, too!!!! :) Yeah, she DOES have a little smug on her face…LOL!! :D

“smug”?? No, just proud of herself. She has seen the word “God” throughout her life with you all and she knows how much God means to all of you. What is amazing is that her handwriting is better than mine. LOL
There is a little girl that paints and she says that each painting is inspired by God. These paintings are beautiful and sell for quite a bit of money. Yet, her parents were atheist and didn’t have a Bible, books or anything in their home religious. After awhile the parents started believing in God…. “and a child shall lead them”
I choose to believe that somehow Lainey was led to write those three letters so perfectly in the middle of the page.
