Nov. 24th – 25th

We have arrived in Beijing :) My mind is mush, after being awake for the last 30 or so hours, so this will be short. Our flights went well, uneventful with the exception of a miscommunication with the Korean counter rep at Korean Air. Apparently when we asked for a window seat, she heard that we wanted NO window. It was all good, though. International airlines truly put American airlines to shame. We were fed 3 full meals across 2 flights. The last flight was only 1 1/2hr long. You MIGHT get peanuts on that flight in the US. I digress…

We’re at a lovely hotel downtown, the Traders. We’ll be up early for touring of the Forbidden City, Tienanmen Square, and we’ll take a rickshaw ride inside a traditional Hutong neighborhood where we’ll be invited inside someone’s home to learn a little bit about their lives. This was one of our favorite parts on our last trip.

More details later, going to crash on our not-so-soft beds. (the Chinese don’t like pillow-tops like us American’s do) I don’t think it’ll matter, given how tired I am. :)

Abbey, Marley, Payton, Ethan, and Lainey – being away from you is even harder than we thought it would be. We love you, and we’re thankful that Skype allows us to see each other and talk everyday. Hugs and kisses!!

Evidently it was you that called us just before we got to your house for Thanksgiving with Ann & the kids. You didn’t let it ring very long…by the time I answered it, you hung up. We got to your house about 5 or so minutes after you got off Skype, Ann said. So, we missed your phone call and seeing you on Skype. We had a real nice dinner with Ann & the kids…Ann, Marley and Lainey helped prepare it. Marley & Abbey rated it a 9…cuz we didn’t finish it up with a dessert. (I was WAY too full for dessert!!)

Ann said you guys looked tired…being awake for 30+ hours isn’t good at all. Hope you both got a good SLEEP!! The kids are fine…they miss you too and we ALL can’t wait till all 3 of you come back home!!! (We just got home around 7PM. Love ya…take care & enjoy your exciting trip!!

So glad you are out of Seoul. That was my only prayer all day that day, whenever it was here and there. With the time change there, and in Belize and Honduras and Mexico, I have no idea what time it is for you or my two little girls, so prayer is just like a constant thought running through my head as I feed FIFTEEN DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you God for boarders. Just found out we need $2500 work on van. Lord help us. :) Love you.

And I am so glad you were fed well- that is always a help in staying energetic and focused. :)
