Last night, we spread out a sheet and ate our dinner in front of the TV…the Steelers were playing for a shot at the Super Bowl.Â
I kinda married into the whole Steelers craze. Randy played football as a kid, on the Cary Steelers. That was all it took to make him a fan for life.
The kids have embraced the fever as well. Even the littlest ones. After every big play, Dylan frantically looked around for someone to high five!
Lainey was in the spirit as well. She didn’t have a Steelers shirt, so she wrapped a scarf around her waist. She worked it well.Â
First half, our guys were unstoppable. They probably heard us cheering in Pittsburgh. Second half, we were biting our nails and everyone else’s nails. But, they pulled it out and we’re headed to the big game! I feel a Super Bowl party coming on!

First of all, this is the first time I’ve heard about Randy being on the Cary “Steelers”~ I must add to this that you, Donna were a cheerleader for the Garner “Rams” and later on, the Garner “Cardinals”. In fact, the Garner “Rams” were undefeated the 1st year you were on the squad…that was exciting. I imagine that Randy was playing against your teams way back then…that’s funny!! =)
How clever to have a sheet on the floor and everyone to eat together there + cheer the Steelers on…looks like you guys had a great time! By the way, Abbey…love the cool glasses!! I also love this last photo of Payton & Dylan…how cute he looks in that Steelers hat! Lainey, I’m glad someone shared their Steelers scarf so that you too could look like a “fan”!!! On to bigger and better things…the SUPER BOWL….GO STEELERS!!!!!!

Randy and Tony both played for the Steelers in Cary and we ALL became Steeler fans forever. Anything that I could buy for them that was Steelers, they got. Their rooms and wardrobe was either Steeler colors or NCSU red and white. A couple of years ago at Christmas, I gave them each their Steeler helmets and have pictures of them trying (or should I say failing) to put the helmets on.
I love the way you all made it a picnic before the game. Great memories. The “high fives” from Dylan were cute and I loved the picture of him and Payton. We will have to get Dylan and Lainey (and Marley??) Steeler shirts to wear for the Super Bowl !

We love the Eagles! The Steelers are just on the wrong side of Pennsylvania.
