I sound like every other mother, I’m sure, when I say…WHERE did the time go? Â Abbey turned 15 yesterday. Â Wow! Â I look back at pictures of her and wonder “where is THAT little girl?” Â Not that I’d turn the clock back. Â Yes, she can be a TEEN sometimes (ha), but I love her to pieces.
This was her actual birthday…we might do a cake this weekend, but her birthday landed on youth night at church which she was THRILLED about (built-in party, seeing your friends, can’t beat it). Â On the way home, we stopped to get her a special doughnut.
Backing up to the night before her birthday, she chose a good ‘ole steak dinner for her birthday outing.
Awwww…she’s always been a daddy’s girl.
sisters, fooling around.
brothers being mysterious.
L and D being cute, as usual.
A great b-day dinner, followed by a great…
birthday dessert. Â She shared with the rest of us…ain’t she sweet?
Now, back to the birthday night.
Present time! Present time! Â Open a present and see what’s inside! Â Abbey used to heart Blues Clues. Â Abbey’s camera died a while back, so here’s the replacement.
The necklace she hinted about. Â A sterling silver key that says “TLW” (true love waits).
A beautiful young lady…with an edgy side. Â She’s proud of that last part.
Okay, bear with me as we go back even further to last Sunday…the big game. Â Yes, I know we LOST. Â I’m over it now and looking forward to next season. Â Anyway… Â Abbey wanted me to post these pics of her and her best buds who came to “enjoy” the game with us.
We had our own half-time show complete with group dancing.
She had a blast….despite the final score.
The littles love all the big kids in the house…more people to play with (and more buttons on more phones).
Happy 15, Abbey. Â At this rate, she’ll turn 16 next week!

No Abbey won’t turn 16 next week, but one day you will turn around and she may just have a 16 year old (or 15 like she is now). I could swear Randy was just 15. I don’t know how he and Tony got to be in their 40’s because I “think” in my heart I am still in my 40″s ?????
Abbey is definitely a “Daddy’s girl” and has been from the start of her life (reminds me of “me” as I was always Daddy’s Little Baby Angel.) But then Randy has always loved Abbey just as much. In fact, you both love ALL your kids very much, but don’t be surprised if they don’t one day say, “Mom/Dad… I know you love me the most, don’t you?” Randy and Tony do that to me all the time and always in front of the other one. You can tell that all your kids love each other and that is so wonderful. They need to hold onto that love forever.
I love the Steeler outfit and had been wanting to see the pics of it, especially the sunglasses.
Yes, the “littles” do seem to love having a lot of people around them. I think they like being the center of attention. I can’t believe how fast Dylan has made that place for himself, but then God had it planned that way all along. As for Lainey and phones… when I was there I would have to go into the bathroom and shut the door and tell her I would be out in a minute… all just to talk on the phone for a minute. LOL
Happy Birthday to a beautiful, loving, unique and quirky young lady… to Abbey.

Absolutely loved reading about “Abbey’s Day”. I don’t think she could have had a better birthday if she tried!! The donut with “sprinkles” reminds me of the many MANY times we took her to Ryan’s Steak House when she was about 2 & 3 and after we “suggested she eat just a little more chicken” (LOL), Granpa would go over to the dessert area to get her a dish of ice cream…he always would get halfway there, when Abbey would holler “Granpa…SPRINKLES!!!” We laughed every time she would do that!!
I agree with her…a steak dinner is the way to go for a birthday dinner. That’s what I had at Tripp’s a couple of weeks ago…Mmmmmmm!!
I believe you can’t get a better gift than a CAMERA, especially if you older died…!!! Also the necklace sound nice. Hope you got our card, Abbey ~
And last, but not least, I LOVE the “Goofy Steelers Fan” photo!!!! …and how great was that to have some good friends join you in a good Super Bowl game?!! Looks like Josh has a fan in his lap…Dylan loves his “extended” big bro!!!!

Happy Birthday Abbey! I remember when you were born AND I remember your Mom and Dad leaving a dinner date with us to go home and work on getting you here. (blush). That’s for another conversation, though. Your birthday is a day before Josi’s so we’re doing the celebration thing today with her. She too is now a teenager which I totally can’t fathom! Hope you have a fun celebration weekend!!!
I wish I could say I’m sorry about the Steeler’s losing…but I’m a Christian and I’m not supposed to lie! :)
