Excuse the goofy shot. Â He was being…well, goofy. Â We had to bring his car seat up to the room to make sure his cast fit. Â No problem there.
The doctors made their rounds EARLY. Â 7:10am to be exact. Â He was given the green light to go home, so we spent the morning having breakfast and packing up.
He got his cast “tricked out” before we left. Â They padded the edges with mole skin and then he chose a camo wrap. Â He’s in very little pain, and is already scooting around on his bottom a little.
We are amazed that, less than 24hrs from his surgery, we were on the way home. Â Our experiences at both the R McD house and Shriners in Greenville, SC could not have been any better…the staff, doctors, everyone was so caring. Â We feel very comfortable there already. Â Good thing, since we’ll be spending a good deal of time there off and on for a lot of years!
I think I may make Dylan a paper chain, so he can see how much time there is until he gets his cast off. Â I need something to help him visualize these steps to getting his “new leg”. Â We’re thankful that this particular step is behind him :)

Donna,It is so nice to hear that Dylan is home!!!
It is great to see a “goofy” shot of the little guy. It just amazes me how fast they bounce back from anything. He is such a fighter and I am sure he will do just fine with what ever he is faced with.I hope you and Randy get a good nights rest now.
Love, Dee

I couldn’t have said it any better than Denise! Granpa & I feel so much better about the whole situation…Dylan’s recuperation (he’s alreay scooting around?!!) and what a great idea to use another paper chain, like was used waiting for Lainey & Dylan’s arrival home from China!
We are also relieved for you guys, after seeing Dylan’s happy face…things may be easier then any of us expected!!! Will continue prayers for his recuperation…God is so good!!! Now I can go on with my day a little more relaxed. =)
