Look at our Lainey! That’s almost a smile! We were overjoyed to receive updated information and new pictures from her orphanage today! Our agency received the information and sent it to us via email. We had been hoping for an update since the agency asked for one back on 11/5. Today’s email included the above picture, another close up of her lip repair, and also a photo of the hemangioma on her back….which is so tiny, it looks like a pink freckle. There was more detailed information about her cleft palate, apparently the cleft is on the left side only. We also received development information and measurements, including head and chest! Here are the details…
She can walk.
She is still on the bottle.
She has 11 teeth.
She can say “mama†and “dada†(wonder if they’ve been working on that??)
Her personality is active and extroverted, but sometimes she is a bit fussy. :)
She is closest to her caretaker.
Here are her measurements:
Weight 20.94lbs., Height 31.5in., Head 17.72 in., Chest 18.5in., Feet 4.33in.
We did a bit of comparing, and Lainey appears to be just about the same in size to Ethan at 18 months old, which means she is a little small for her age. We’ll be taking 12 and 18 month size clothes and we’re estimating her shoe size to be a 4 or 4.5.
Another big step today…we mailed off the next set of paperwork to our agency today AND sent off the paperwork/our passports to order our Visas. We hope to see TA in about 2 weeks. Until then, I have a new picture to stare at (while I pack and do all the other zillion things on my “to-do†list!)

First off Donna……About me….LOL.
I finally I’m leaving a post on your blog. It’s taken me (don’t know why) over a year to get a password. This was my 5 or 6 time trying to be able to post. I’m so excited now, because I can post while your in China. I’m just so excited.
Now on to Lainey. She is a doll baby. Jewel tones are her colors for sure. Her lip looks so good, and she looks so healthy and happy. I know your excited that she loves her sleep. That is such a good thing while traveling for sure. I can’t wait to follow along and now post to your blog while in China.
Come on Febuary.

I absolutely want to hold Lainey in my arms and just love on her !!! After such a long time I know that you and Randy are so ready to go bring your daughter home. Two weeks??? Are you really going that quickly? I love that Lainey has been taught “Mama” and “Daddy”. She will be calling you that in no time at all. With all the love you both have to give her, Lainey will know that she is home with her family. God is so good. And when you follow His directions your life will be so blessed. Thank you for giving me a new grandchild. I promise to love her as much as I do my other 10.

Now there is a beautiful smile… and note, no cookie in the picture ;o) Donna, Lainey has very similar measurements to Aiden right now. Aiden is 20lbs 10oz, 31.25 inches long, and a head size of 18.75 inches. I know you just saw him over the holidays, so hopefully that helps you relate to what Lainey might look like right now. Aiden is also wearing 12 to 18 month clothes and a size 4 shoe– so I believe what you are planning to take over to China to pick Lainey up will work out great. We are so excited for all of you… we are praying that all of you stay in perfect health, and that travel planning goes very smoothly. We love you!
