Smiling in the Beijing airport
We survived our first night on the rock-hard mattress (Randy was in heaven, Donna not so much). We’re headed to meet our group for breakfast in just a minute, and then we have a full day of touring…the Forbidden City, Tian’anmen (how do you spell that?) Square, lunch at an authentic Chinese restaurant, and then an acrobat show. Whew. We’ll check in later and hopefully more than time to post more details about our trip so far and add more pictures!
Thank you SO much for the comments today, you have no idea what it means to read that you are holding us up in prayer.

What a great picture of both of you! You don’t look a bit tired!! How many are in your group? Have you met the couple from Cary yet? How was your 1st tour?? Sounds like interesting things to go to, especially the acrobat show…they really have lots of talent from what I’ve seen! You have no idea how much we miss you, even tho we don’t get to see you in Florida, just knowing you’re half a world away makes me remember how it was adjusting to your being at the campus at UNC-Chapel Hill!!!! Can’t wait till you get back!!! Also can’t wait to read more and see more pictures…please keep ’em coming! Love you both, Mom & Dad

I am so excited to see you in China. I hope you had a wonderful day touring. That really helped us adjust to the time change. I also felt as if I had walked into pictures. I had studied others stories that had gone before us and it just felt so surreal to be there. Love the update!

Randy and Donna,
Well, it is finally here! It is one of the greatest adventures you’ll ever experience. You’ll see God in such a wonderful way. We prayed for you last night and will continue to do so. Can’t wait to see you with your precious daughter. Enjoy the time together, savor each moment, and take lots of pictures! The time will fly by.
Much love,

It was Great chatting for a minute with Randy via Internet. He may be my grown son with a wife and kids, but he is still my “baby” and I just needed to know all was okay. You do look so happy, but I know it must be hard to be so close… but not quite yet. This time of adjustment will be good for you though and make you even more ready for Lainey.
For you today: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing priases to Thy name, O Most High. To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning and Thy faithfulness by night… for Thou, O Lord, has made me glad by what Thour hast don.” Psalm 92
In our prayers lets all remember to thank and praise God for it is through Him that this miracle is coming true.

Wow! You don’t look jet-lagged or tired at all … must be all these prayers (and good living) … It is fantastic to know that you are within hours of holding your new little girl.
“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14). You have waited faithfully, with His patience your guide. The waiting will soon be over. Hallelujah!
Love you,

Hey guys. WOW you look excited. I think you will love the Forbidden City and the Square and the acrobats will amaze you. (I went to China 19 or 20 years ago). Jack is doing great- he is getting used to playing (enduring) the little Italian Greyhounds and he likes going on walks with Samson and Nuri. I gotta tell you though, that dog has gas that would clear out a room!!! :) I finally reset my password on this thing so I can check in more often and without so much hassle. You must be DYING to take the bus over, take the driver hostage and drive to that orphanage, girl. Let me know when the urge kicks in and send pics of Randy at the wheel, would you???? :) :) :) ::) HEE HEE. Love you lots. Wait till the little Chinese kids see you- they’ll stare at you like you are a Martian- it’s a hoot- tell us more about what you are seeing and doing- love you lots. Anne
