Can it be?
FIVE years? Â When I look back at the baby pics, I can believe it.
Now, she’s 6, but wishing she was 16. Â Must be the influence of all the teenagers at our house.
“Now, a silly one, mama!”
“Can Dylan be in the picture with me?” Of course, babe.
“And Jack?” Â Sure…
Jack is such a lick-headed dog!
Showing off her headstand skills….she can stand there forever.
Our tradition is to give each child a book on their Gotcha Day anniversary…one that shows what that child loves or is “into” at that age. Or, maybe an adoption-themed book appropriate for them. Â This year, Lainey is ga-ga for Sofia the First and she was SO hoping that would be her book.
We didn’t disappoint.
Love you, girl! Â Happy Forever Family Day…we’re so thankful that God meant you for us.

How sweet that you were able to adopt Lainey while she was a baby! The down side on adopting older children, you miss those precious younger years!
I love the book idea for Gotcha Day! I think I will borrow it for my girls!

Where have these 5 years gone??…Cuz it sure does seem like YESTERDAY that Lainey was that cute little toddler in the pink dress & white sandals (oh, how she LOVED shoes then!!) Now she’s still in pink (Love the bunny shirt…she’ll have to wear that the next time she sees Uncle Tony & Aunt Dee Dee with the glasses on it!) but a pretty girl in braids…and oh yes, still SMILING!!!
Love the shot of Jack the “Lick Head” (HA!!) licking Lainey’s face to make her laugh! Hey Lainey, good head stand…and I see you were well pleased with your new “Sophia” book!! Can I read it to you when we come this Saturday? ;)

I think that God saw that we all needed a “Lainey” in our lives as she has blessed each one of us.
Lainey was such a timid, scared little girl when she first came to our family, but it didn’t take her long to become a true “clark” with all the loudness, fun, excitement, laughter and love.
I am like Peggy in asking… “where has 5 years gone?”
Lainey… I’m glad “we all” gotcha !

It’s hard to remember when she was that little girl in the pink dress. She definitely is growing up and she will be 16 before you know it. Happy Gotcha Day!
