Well, not quite. Â We were told the rope was 600 ft long. Â Randy estimated maybe we were 200+ feet in the air :)

On the boat, ready to go! Â I wasn’t nervous at all.
About that…I swear I DO have a fear of heights. Â I don’t like being in open, high spaces…like a roof, ledge, mountain. Â I mean, the wind could blow me off, right?! Â But, (most) roller coasters and zip lines don’t bother me. Â I like them.
However, when we went zip-lining a while back, they also had rope bridges to go across.  I was STILL connected by the ropes that would catch me  if I fell, but the possibility of missing a step and falling even for a second was overwhelming.  I hated those bridges!
I’ve realized that, as long as I feel “contained” and I don’t have much of a “free fall” feeling, it’s all good.

Connecting us to the sail…

Letting out the rope…here we go!

We were in awe of all the different colors of the ocean below…and we saw a sea turtle. Â Randy kept talking about how high we were. Â I told him to shut up.

What a happy, little sail.

This one gives you an idea of how far we were from the boat. Â We were over the water most of the time, but in this shot we were turning and ended up right over the coast.

Then, he managed to get us hovering over our resort! Â Very cool…

Those 30 minutes were over so quickly, and before we knew it they were reeling us in.

Public displays of affection…

down…

down…

A perfect landing.

Seriously, one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done. Â Besides lying beside a pool, reading a book.
If you ever get the chance, you should try parasailing. Â It’s the closest I’ll ever get to flying without a plane :)

So glad you took the opportunity to do this! and to see these wonderful pictures …
Parasailing remains one of the great adventurous joys of my life, a few years ago when I was on a short vacation to Negril, Jamaica. I remember having to consciously THINK to reach up & close my mouth right after I lifted off the platform: I was so amazed at the colors of the water below.

I think I could do this and wish I was at a resort on some tropical island where I could do it ! LOL It looks like you and Randy were having a blast. I loved the kiss to seal the whole experience.
I don’t like roller coasters or double ferriswheels, but then I don’t like rooftops, high ladders, etc. I am okay on bridges (like Grandfather Mtn.) I would be okay OVER the water like you two were, but don’t like underwater tunnels.
I can’t believe you landed right back on the platform as I thought you would have landed in the water. You didn’t even get wet!
The ‘happy’ sail matched you and Randy perfectly… none of you quit smiling !

Ooooh, yeah!! This looks like fun! It’s not like a roller coaster that takes you waaaay up and then waaaay down!! :( (Don’t like them!!)
You mentioned that there were lots of newlyweds on their honeymoon…that’s what you both look like in these pictures and the rest of you Cancun vacation photos!!! I think this vacation was one of the best things you guys have done since that wonderful week that you all (except Dylan) went to Boone, NC for a week!!
You really have lots of great pictures as memories of your Cancun, Mexico get-away…and we have enjoyed each one of them!!!

I’d have to be dead or unconscious for my body to be put on one of those things and sent up in the air like that. I can get vertigo just leaning out a window or looking at a picture that is taken from high up in the air. If the pictures had been taken by you or Randy while up in the air looking down, I couldn’t have even looked at them.
