They say time seems to go by faster as you grow older.
In my case, I’d say that’s right on the money.
Otherwise, how could my daughter…the one who blessed me with the title of Mom…how could she possibly be 18 already?
But, here we are and she’s 18 and I’m no longer that 30 year old “brand new, have no clue what I’m doing” mom.
Well, sometimes the no clue part still fits.
But, Abbey is growing into a young woman right before our eyes. Â She’s a girl version of her dad. Â Strong willed, , fun-loving, competitive, a true night-owl, loves the spotlight, prone to hyperactivity, fearless…
18 is a milestone year. Â One that brings with it changes…something she’s NEVER liked. Â But, I see her growing and embracing the future. Â Just a bit.
I can’t wait to see where God brings her.
I hope to add some pictures of her amazing birthday party soon…the site I use to upload pics is having tech issues. Â In the meantime, here are a few hints: Â a few friends, semi-formal, hummer limo, dinner out, party all night.
I asked her today how it rated…0-10. Â Without blinking, she said a 10. Â :)
We’re headed out tonight for our traditional family birthday dinner. Â At her fav steakhouse, like always. Â I mentioned she’s not into change, right?
Happy Birthday, Abbey-girl. Â We love you always…

Abbey is so much like Randy… and that isn’t a bad way to be. You left out one thing they have alike and that is their capacity for loving others.
The pictures I have seen were great and can’t wait to see more.
Abbey has had 2 days of memories that she will hold in her heart forever. You and Randy and God have done a fantastic job in raising our “Abbey Girl.”

Awww, love the photo AND your tribute to your amazing beautiful daughter, our grand daughter. I couldn’t have said it better….I’ve always told you that you have a way with words and you should have been a journalist…you would have amazed the world, or at least America with your writing ~
…and you’re right, time DOES go faster as you get older. If it gets any faster, it will make me dizzy!! (Although I’ve been known to make people think I’m that way already…HA!!) I am absolutely sure that you have all the clues as to what you are doing as a mom…otherwise, our grands wouldn’t be as amazing, loving, caring, etc. as they are…of course, with Randy’s help!! Where she is like her Granma, is the “doesn’t like CHANGE” part. I try to deal with it, but sometimes it’s difficult. (Hey, what can I say?!)
Hope you all had a fantastic night out at Abbey’s fav steak house…and celebrated her. We also cannot wait to see where God brings her. In the meantime, we’ll continue to love her and watch her grow into quite a beautiful young lady…I’d say she’s a “10” too!!!! Love you, Abs!!!
