Lainey and Dr. Glassman
Lainey had her 5 week post-op visit today and all is well. No more follow-ups, she’s been given clearance to swim, use sippy cups, try straws, etc. Woo hoo! He said the repair looks great. Our next step will be to monitor her speech development…she could need another surgery depending on how that progresses. If not, then the next surgery will be when she’s around 4 or 5, to revise her lip and nose repair. Between now and then, she’ll be monitored regularly by the cleft palate clinic.
Tomorrow is the big day! TWO! Â

I was thinking about her follow-up visit just before I left the toddler room to come home for lunch, hoping to hear she’ll be able to do the rest of the things…swim, use sippy cups, try straws, etc.

Happy Birthday to Lainey our 4th of July “star”. My first official writing of any kind is being done on my brand new wonderful overwhelming PC. I can’t believe I have it and will forever be thankful to the “angel” that got it for me.

GStegall . . . the only reason I decided to hook you up with a new PC was so you would keep going to our forum and help keep some chatter going. I’m glad it’s working – how surprised were you?
Now if only more would add in, you know?

Put it this way… when I talked to Alan again today, I started crying again. Surprise doesn’t even begin to say “how I was/am.” I sent you an email about this. Believe me when I say that last night when I went to bed, my last thoughts/prayers were about you. When God gave me my sons he truly blessed my life and filled my heart. Your act of love for me confirmed that God doesn’t ever make mistakes.

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”
What better scripture could you have on this day…Lainey’s birthday?? Knowing you wanted to adopt a little girl, you had the faith in God to know that He would give you the perfect one for your family. Not ever having seen her, you all knew from the first picture that this was the daughter of your hearts.
