Basketball, his fav sport (just like his dad)
Payton is our “middle child”, in that he has two big sisters, a little brother and a little sister. Never mind that one big sister and one little brother are only 1 minute apart from him :) When I told Payton that I was going to write a post about him and his “Payton-isms”, he got very excited. When I asked him if he knew what that meant, he said “nope”. lol… That’s him. He’s got the best sense of humor and always says these funny things out of the blue.Â
- It’s almost school time around here, and I’ve been busy making up a new daily schedule, a new plan for handling chores, and a way to communicate little requests to the kids without having to “nag” (not that I EVER nag…). I made up a clip-thingy to hold their chore slips and Payton found it the other day. He looked at it with a confused look on his face, looked at me, and then smiled and said “you’re planning something aren’t you?” Just the way he looked at me and said it, cracked me up.Â
- I was walking down the hall the other day, and came upon Payton walking toward me with a pout on his face. He said “I need a hug”. Well, of course I hugged him for a minute and then he pulled back, sighed a big sigh, and said “ahhhhh…my mama meter is full”.Â
Just a couple of examples of how Payton regularly makes us truly laugh out loud. We think he’ll either be a comedian or pastor when he grows up (the boy can pray like nobody’s business)…maybe both? I think I’ll go get a hug from him

You just gotta love that boy !!! Looking at that picture of him reminded me so much of Randy. WOW
I love the “mama meter.” That is better than “mama mia” by a long shot. I have yet to out grow my “mama meter needing a hug from her boys” meter.
Talk about him making up stuff. What is this “clip-thingy” you said. LOL
Hey, my pastor has a great sense of humor. It helps keep some of the people awake. But then he never puts me to sleep. He is a good preacher and friend.
Love you Payton… gram

I have always thought that your Dad “rocks.” Remember he was saying his “Randyisms” to me many years ago. You and your Dad not only look alike, but act alike too. Are you not going to ever “grow up” because that is what your Dad has always said he wouldn’t do??
It is great that you love your Mom’s cooking too. She pretty much “rocks” too, doesn’t she??

Awwww, Payton…I LOVE those things you said to your mom!! I keep a journal of things you kids say and do…I get it out ocassionally and laugh as I read it! In June of 2007, I wrote, “Here is a quote from Payton, our “Thinker”. “When you think that something bad is going to happen to someone else, unfortunately we’re ALL someone else to someone else”. Wow, THAT ROCKS! How many of you remember Payton when he was a toddler…he didn’t say much at all!! I’m very glad that has changed!! I seems like it wasn’t too long ago that Payton told me, “Granma, I love piggies and Scooby-Do!” We love you, Payton…keep on making us laugh!! Granma & Granpa :)
