When most everyone else is pulling out sweaters and jackets, we’re still in flip flops. So, when we do get a “cold snap” (no laughing), we make a fire. Every year, we end up chasing at least a few lizards that wound up on top of the damper. We rescued one, and another one disappeared into a crack in the back. To safety, I’m SURE. The kids love having a fire, it’s just a shame we don’t need it more often!
3 days till Thanksgiving…is YOUR turkey thawing in the fridge like mine??

Paul had a fire going tonight. It (he) makes a mess using real wood, but that is the way he loves it. Paul loves to cut the wood, split it, haul it, stack it and build a roaring fire and then go to sleep in front of it. (He leaves the cleaning up to me)LOL
Great picture. Oh yeah, you could always come back to NC and have a LOT of fires in a fireplace.

That is so cute! We are having a “cold snap”, and I am longing for a fire. I think I’ll use the fact that you had one in FL to help convince my hubs! :)

What a “cozy” picture!! We have a fire going most every night at this time of year (gas logs)…your dad says it’s the only way to go!!
Well, if YOUR turkey is thawing in the fridge, I suppose OURS is too!! :) :D We’re all packed and ready to head SOUTH tomorrow morning, probably 6 or 6:30 AM.
I like Ann’s comment about having a NC fire in your fireplace….:) :) See ya tomorrow!!!

So how cold was your “cold snap”? Did you dip into the 60s? (Wimps!) We have been dipping into the 20s at night…ahhhh, the Midwest.
However, I must say that picture is awesome. Almost good enough to be a Christmas card…except you can’t see the kids’ faces. Very cozy, indeed.
