This sweet face will change next week, when Lainey goes in for surgery. Hopefully for the better, but I’ll actually miss the crooked nose and little imperfection above her lip. Maybe the difference will be subtle…maybe big.Â
The surgeon will also be closing the fistula that popped open from her last repair in May 08. We are praying that this will greatly improve her ability to make speech sounds, drink from straws, and blow out birthday candles.Â
Though we’re trying to prepare her for Wednesday, she’s pretty much oblivious…she was too young to remember her last surgery. She’ll know that we’re going to the “doctor”, that she’ll wear a funny nightgown, and that the boo boo in her mouth will be fixed. And, that we’ll be there every minute that we can.

What a sweet face of my little grand daughter…I almost cried looking at her 3 adorable photos and how you described her. What a wonderful addition she has been to our family! She’s smart, funny, a “ham” for the camera and just soooo CUTE!!!
We’re already praying for her, you & Randy, our other beautiful grandkids and the doctors to perform surgery on that sweet little face and hope her recovery is every bit as good as her last surgery. Wish we could be there…but we are in spirit.

We will be praying for Lainey and for all of you. It’s so hard to watch your child hurt.

I am praying for all of you. My heart aches to think of Lainey hurting. May God grant the surgeon–and all those helping–great wisdom and skill. May this week pass quickly for all of you!
Hugs and kisses!!!!
