Well, not technically. But, we did have an AWESOME field trip with our homeschool group today! We went to the Cummer Gallery of Art and Gardens, where there is a traveling exhibit called “Temples and Tombsâ€. Approximately 85 artifacts from Egyptian history are on display here, on lend from the British Museum for about 3 months. It was so amazing to be in the same room as these treasures, made thousands of years ago. I just stared at a pair of bangle bracelets, imagining the Egyptian woman who wore them.
They didn’t allow pictures in the exhibit (the security was tighter than the airport), but I took a few outside and in the Children’s interactive area.
Ethan got the cobra from the gift shop.
Marley, busy creating.
Payton inside the “noodle house†the kids made.
Abbey “inside†a painting (and Payton’s head peeking out from the back!)
Ethan is writing his description of the item he found in the archeological dig activity.
Abbey bought a archeologist kit, where she’ll uncover an Egyptian treasure. After about 30min., she found the bottom of the item and then took a break! It’s hard work!

Wow, I didn’t know they had all that at the Cummer. I’ve never been there. Maybe I can borrow some kids from friends and take them some time! I can’t wait to be a Mama – I’m missing out on so much fun stuff!

THought I would write you another comment. You mentioned that if you got 2 comments in a day it was good, so here’s number three! Having a good day yet? :-)

I thought I’d help Janet T. out and give her a break on the comments…ha! I got kinda CONCERNED when I saw my grandson, Ethan with a COBRA around his neck…glad it came from the gift shop!! It looks so real! I imagine the kids had a great time at this exhibit. Like they say, kids have to have “hands on” experience to really learn…I learned this when I took Early Childhood Credentials! Just reading about stuff and looking at pictures is ok, but actually touching things and seeing it for “real” is the “real deal”!! Love ya, Mom

I don’t even want a “fake” snake around here. I am not sure who is more afraid of them … me or PaPaul. But having had boys I know how much they love this type stuff. Randy did have a green snake one time and it got out in the garage. This place sounds great to visit. I love the little archeologist digging for her find.
The pictures are great too. It really helps keep up with my grands.
